Bill Plympton, one of the FFF favourite authors and autarchic animator, already homaged with a retrospective in 2004 and winner of the Platinum Grand Prize in 2014 with his masterwork Cheatin. This year he overcome himself gifting us with a movie, Revengeance, and two shorts, The Loneliest Stopnight and Cop Dog, last chapter of the puppy awarded saga started in 2004 with Guard Dog.
Revengeance, co-directed with another master of the underground animation, Jim Lujan, is an irreverent and wild noir western, that gives a caustic and grotesque view of America, magnificently up to the times of the Trump government.
Stay tuned, the countdown just started: everyday you'll get news on the #FFF2017 program! #characterwow

A new and important announcement is going to enrich next Future Film Festival's lineup: following last year's success of Alienween by Federico Sfascia, this year we decided to explore the rich universe of italian indepedent cinema with a focus on 6 movies and 8 short films, unknown yet of undoubtable quality.
Black cats, cowboys seeking for justice in deep space, cardboard spaceships, dreamy feasts, Lovecraft&Poe, endless nights, ancestral legends and post-apocaliptic scenaries; in the last twenty years italian cinema created imaginary, fantastic and weird worlds, rich in inventive and poor in budget. An hidden world that could make "the system" tremble.
Get ready, Bologna. It's time for vengeance.

We are proud to report that the beautiful Matilde Gioli, one of the most promising new italian actresses, was our guest on the 4th of May to present the world premiere of Claustophonia, the last work by Roberto Zazzara.
Known to the public for her performances in many italian films such as Il capitale umano (Human Capital) by Paolo Virzì or the comedy Belli di papà by Guido Chiesa, Matilde was chosen by Zazzara, one of the most brave and independent italian directors, to be the main character of Claustrophonia: an experimental short film, the ending of which can be chosen by the audience between three endings: it is indeed a new generation film, designed and realized to be a forerunner of interactive films, the cinema of the future.
The audience’s choice will depend on the sensations and emotions that the film will arouse, and that’s the reason why the film was designed for an interactive fruition, not just for the web but for on-demand TV as well.
As for the screening in a common theatre, the audience will still be able to vote an ending by using a special controller, so that the most voted one will be immediately played on screen.
